Our Morning Sunday School meets at 9.30am-10.15am and all children are welcome from Primary 1 to Year 11.

The Bible Class also meets at 9.30am-10.15am.

Afternoon Sunday School meets on Sunday Afternoons from 3.00pm-4.00pm and all children from 4-14 years old will be made very welcome.

MORNING SUNDAY SCHOOL

Confused? Some of us realize it and some of us don’t. A little boy told me that Joseph, in the Christmas story, had a coat of many colours. Someone, in a more senior class, declared that she was confused when thinking about creation. I don’t think confused.com would be of any help to either of them, but thankfully our well-prepared teachers are on hand to guide the children and young people towards the truth.

As leader it is my privilege to drop in on all the classes and see how the children are developing. Some come with little knowledge, but many leave knowing exactly what it means to be a Christian. ‘Jesus said, “I am the way,”’ was our theme for last year and Children’s Day gave us an opportunity to share with our church family verses we had learnt, songs we had sung and a sketch written and performed by Jonny’s class. It was also an opportunity to give a bible to some of the children who didn’t have one. Watching one little boy sit, totally engrossed, leafing through his, at the end of the service gave us such a thrill.

We returned to the People’s Park in Ballymena for our outing in May. The weather was beautiful and we had a great day. The senior classes also enjoyed 10-pin bowling and the junior classes ended the year with a Christmas party.

Please continue to pray for us.

AFTERNOON SUNDAY SCHOOL

As we look back over the past year we thank and praise God that we have seen our Sunday School’s aim fulfilled in the lives of the children and young people.

In addition to our teaching ministry we have enjoyed various events – our Sunday School outing, 10-pin bowling and our Christmas party. In every aspect of our work, our aim remains the same, to reach the children with the good news of the Gospel. In April we had our Thanksgiving Service and were pleased to have Stephen to speak to us. He gave a most helpful and challenging message from God’s Word. It was lovely to have Ruth and family with us too and Ruth presented the prizes.

The year ended with our annual Carol Service. We rejoice at the way in which the children and young people led the worship, giving praise and glory to God at this very special time of year. We were delighted to have Stephen Chambers (CEF Worker) as our speaker. He brought the Christmas message to us in a way that was appropriate to all age groups present.

We look forward to the year 2011 in the will of the Lord and in the knowledge that His presence will go with us. Do pray with us that this year many children and young people will come to faith in Jesus Christ and that others will be strengthened in their faith.

Thank you parents for your prayers, support and encouragement, and our friends, who are always ready and willing to help us with catering and in many other ways.

Dorothy
